🌱 Growing Together in the Harvest: Living the Great Commission in 2026 Walking in the Call to Be the Church

March 20, 2026 Oyikuru Emmanuel

As we step into 2026, Hope Tabernacle Ministries has embraced a powerful challenge: not simply to attend church, but to be the church. Pastor Samuel and Agnes remind us that the Great Commission is not a distant command but a living reality for every believer.

Jesus said:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19–20

This call is not optional; it is the heartbeat of the Christian life.

Mission Sunday: A Defining Moment

One of the highlights of the year so far has been Mission Sunday. On that day, the congregation stepped boldly into the community, sharing the hope of Christ. The result was extraordinary: 50 people heard the Gospel, and 30 surrendered their lives to Jesus.

For many, it was their first time leading someone to Christ. The joy on their faces was a reminder that evangelism is not a burden but a blessing. As Paul wrote:

“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
Romans 10:15

Each One, Reach One, Teach One

Hope Tabernacle has embraced the motto: Each One, Reach One, Teach One. This simple yet profound vision calls every believer to:

  • Reach One — Share the Gospel with someone in your circle.
  • Teach One — Disciple them in the Word of God.
  • Repeat — Multiply the harvest by making disciples who make disciples.

Paul captured this principle when he wrote:

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
2 Timothy 2:2

This is how the church grows — not just in numbers, but in depth, maturity, and faithfulness.

Stories of Transformation

From youth retreats filled with prayer to worship services under mango trees in Palenga, the Gospel is touching lives in unexpected places. Each testimony is a reminder that God’s Word is alive and active.

One young believer shared how nervous they were to speak about Jesus, but when they did, they saw a friend’s heart open to the truth. That moment became a turning point — not just for the friend, but for the one who shared. Truly, the harvest is plentiful, and the workers are stepping forward.

Keeping the Momentum

The challenge now is to keep the fire burning. Evangelism is not a one-time event; it is a lifestyle. As Jesus said:

“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Luke 10:2

Hope Tabernacle is committed to ongoing discipleship, ensuring that new believers are nurtured, taught, and equipped to walk faithfully with Christ.

A Call to Action

As we grow together in the harvest, every believer has a role to play. Whether teaching a child at Berean School, sharing faith on a street corner, or supporting the radio ministry that reaches millions, each act of obedience contributes to the Great Commission.

This year, let us commit to:

  • Pray for boldness and opportunities to share Christ.
  • Act by reaching one person with the Gospel.
  • Disciple by walking alongside someone in their faith journey.

Together, we are not just attending church — we are being the church.

Final Encouragement
The harvest is ripe in 2026. God is moving in Uganda and beyond, and He invites us to join Him in the work. As Pastor Samuel and Agnes remind us: “Each One, Reach One, Teach One.” Let us rise to the call, knowing that Christ Himself is with us to the very end of the age.
