Question
Why did God allow Job to suffer so much?
Answer
Job’s story shows that suffering is not always a direct punishment for sin. Satan challenged God, claiming Job only served Him because of his blessings. God permitted the testing but set limits on what Satan could do. Through it all, Job remained faithful even when he didn’t understand why.
The book teaches that God is sovereign and His wisdom is far greater than ours. Job’s suffering refined his faith and relationship with God. In the end, God restored Job and spoke directly to him, showing that He is always in control even when life feels chaotic. This story comforts believers that God can bring good out of pain and that He values our trust in Him more than easy circumstances.
